Resident alpaca at Three Creeks, Burkes Pass, braved freezing temperatures and snow last week, prompting Ruth Waters to capture the moment on camera.

The alpaca have had a busy week after featuring in the news the week prior, where they were referred to as llama by a television crew.

To ensure people were put right, their latest photo went on Facebook with the phrase ''oh no - here we go again ... and just for the record we are ALPACAS . . . Llamas . . . seriously?!''

When not referred to as alpaca, they are affectionately called ''naughty boys'', she said.
