About 140 people attended a public meeting at Papakaio near Oamaru this week for the latest update on the outbreak confirmed on two Van Leeuwen Dairy Group properties in the Waimate district.
Dairy farmers are getting frustrated as they await test results from a recent outbreak of mycoplasma bovis in cattle. No time line has been given from MPI yet but people at the meeting heard more about steps being taken by research staff.
The Ministry for Primary Industries has admitted that with only one testing laboratory available, it will take quite some time before the test results come back.
