Vintage tractors on display at Katikati A&P Show

Models of yesteryear will be a drawcard at the Katikati A&P Show.

The Tauranga Vintage Machinery Club will once again have a display of vintage tractors, stationary engines and machinery at the Katikati A&P Show on Sunday.

Yesteryear machinery enthusiasts will enjoy the old models lined up in the display.

The club, which was started about 30 years ago by a small group of men interested in the preservation of old tractors, stationary engines and related machinery, often has displays at A&P shows.

The club is affiliated to vintage clubs throughout New Zealand, and has more than 70 members from around the Bay of Plenty and some from further afield.

The Tauranga Vintage Machinery Club holds an annual crank up day with working demonstrations on the first Sunday of April at Hot Springs Rd south of Katikati, which is always popular with the public.

Several tractor treks are held throughout the year along with visits to other districts.
Last year they visited sheds at Putaruru, Waikato and Gisborne.

Members meet monthly on the third Monday of the month at Tauranga Vintage Car Club building on Cliff Rd in Tauranga at 7.30pm.

The club shares newsletters with many other clubs and has a Facebook page with more information.
