Turiroa and Kenhardt line their bulls up for final sales of extended Bull Week

The last of the region’s rising 2-year-old Angus bulls this sales season go under the auctioneer’s hammer today in on-farm sales.

The Kenhardt Angus sale at Nuhaka and the Turiroa Angus sale at Wairoa were postponed last week because of the storm.

More than 100 young bulls will be up for grabs today.

Kenhardt will put up 50 in their sale which starts at 10.30am.

Turiroa will follow with 53 in their sales at 2pm.

“The bulls are looking well and there will be some good opportunities down there today to buy good commercial station bulls at realistic prices,” said auctioneer Neville Clark.

The team at Turiroa say their line-up features the moderate frame, natural soft fleshing and thickness they strive for - “highlighting the depth right through the catalogue we like to see with these unbreakable types that make great station bulls”.

The team at Kenhardt have likewise been well pleased with their line-up this season.

Kenhardt Angus at Nuhaka will have offspring from one of the stud's top sires, Kenhardt Jackpot (pictured), on offer this morning when they present 50 of their R2s in their on-farm sale.

Lot 52A in the Kenhardt line-up today will be sold in support of the Wairoa Mayoral Relief Fund, with 50% of the proceeds from the bull’s sale to be donated to the relief fund to assist with clean-up efforts from the recent flooding.
