Taieri man Graham White will be the New Zealand judge for the dog-trial test series against Australia in Taupo in November.
The New Zealand team comprises Murray Child (captain) and Dice, from Northland; Merv Utting and Prince and Leo Edginton and Skip, both from Poverty Bay; and Eion Herbert and Storm, from Wakefield. The reserve is Bob Bruce and Cheat (Hawke's Bay).
Mr Bruce won the long head at the recent New Zealand dog trial championships at Whangara, near Gisborne, while Mr Herbert won the short head and yard.
Dave Stuart and Gus, from Rangiwahia, won the zig zag hunt, and Vaughan Marfell and Torque won the straight hunt.
Southern triallists to feature included Roger Tweed and Price, from Waitahuna, who were fifth in the long head, Rick Aubrey and Toby (Omarama), who were seventh in the short head and yard, and Brian Sparrow and Bones (Greenvale), who were fifth in the straight hunt.
