Taieri District Pig Hunting Club event saw 68kg boar delivery.
A pig-hunting competition on the Taieri went off with a bang at the weekend.
Wanaka team Piggie Smalls, consisting of Sharn Stewart, Lucy Jaine, Ayson Cole and Quintin Mullen, claimed first place in the event, organised by the Taieri District Pig Hunting Club.
The team delivered a 68kg boar
to the weigh-in at Outram Hotel yesterday afternoon, beating 21 other entrants.
They won $400 plus sponsor prizes.
Mr Mullen also took home a spot prize, a Garmin Astro 430/T5 GPS dog-tracker bundle, courtesy of Hunting and Fishing Dunedin.
