Synlait says it is confident a dairy packaging facility being built at Dunsandel remains on track, despite an Auckland-based subcontractor going into receivership.
Ebert Construction Ltd was placed in receivership last week with around $40 million worth of debts, jeopardising 95 jobs and 15 contracts around the country, including one at Synlait's Dunsandel factory.
In a statement last week, a Synlait spokesperson said the company had contracted international company Tetra Pak for the building works for the advanced liquid dairy packaging facility, which was due to be commissioned early next year.
Tetra Pak was also contracted for Synlait's second nutritional powder manufacturing site at Pokeno, in the Waikato, which was due to be commissioned for the 2019-20 season.
The two contracts had in turn been subcontracted to Ebert Construction Ltd.
