The Taranaki/Manawatu Regional Final of the FMG Young Farmer of the Year will be held in Wellington on February 24.
It's the first time the regional final has been held in Wellington, and among the finalists for the region are a former cocktail bartender, an award-winning contract milker and a drone-flying drystock farmer.
The grand final of the competition takes place in Invercargill in July.
The regional finalists are: Lachlan Fee, Kieran McCahon, and Emma Dangen from Palmerston North, Guy Harvey from Kaponga, Nick Brown from Toko, Michael McCombs from Kimbolton, Dylan Brunton from Cardiff and Will Taylor who is from Feilding.
