Prices have remained strong at Stortford Lodge.

Prices remained strong for the last store sale of the year at Stortford Lodge yesterday.

The 1500 lambs on offer sold well with 35kg-plus lambs making $130. The next store sale is January 9.

Heifers: Oakdale Farm, Raukawa, five yrling ang, av weight, 229kg, 327c/kg, $750/head.

Lambs: Waipiropiro Station, Raukawa, 167 m/s b/f, $130.50; 63 male, $130; Est AW Parsons, Wallingford, 445 ram, $113; Kanuka Creek, Glengarry, 50 m/s, $118.50; Tyrone Farm, Blackburn Ridge, 28 ram, $128.50; 88 ram, $117; 50 ram, $103; 16 ram, $99.

Prime sale

The prime market ended the year on a strong note at Monday's sale. The lamb market was especially strong for a quality offering. Prime cows also sold well in yarding of 34 head. The next prime sale will be on January 7.

Cows: (Ang, here-cross, sthrn-cross, specklepark) Av weight, 533kg to 667kg, 210c/kg to 220c/kg, $1077/head to $1650/head.

Heifers: (Charo, ang-cross, ang, here) Av weight, 490kg to 568kg, 276c/kg to 282c/kg, $1352/head to $1596/head.

Bull (Ang) Weight, 730kg, 275c/kg, $2007/head.

Lambs: Male, $156.50 to $193; b/f, $105.50, $162; ewe, $158.50, $164; m/s, $99 to $182; b/f, $114 to $202.
