KEY POINTS:
A report is accusing the government of not thoroughly considering the health effects of a spraying campaign to eliminate the Painted Apple Moth from Auckland.
More than 70 people contributed to the March 2006 People's Inquiry into the Impacts and Effects of Aerial Spraying Pesticide.
The report claims a health risk assessment carried out before the spraying was based on incorrect assumptions. It says people who asked for information about the spraying were left feeling hurt, upset and alienated by the way they were treated.
The authors are appealing for amendments to the Biosecurity Act, to provide better health protection for people affected by spraying.
