Silver Fern Farms Co-operative Ltd's director election looks to be interesting, as two high-profile candidates challenge two directors.

Rob Hewett and Fiona Hancox retire by rotation at the company's annual meeting in Dunedin on April 18 and both are standing for re-election.

Nominations have also been received for Mid Canterbury farmer Chris Allen, who is a Federated Farmers national board member, and former Federated Farmers chief executive Conor English.

Voting papers will be posted to eligible shareholders on April 4 and voting will close on April 16.

The result will be announced before the annual meeting.
