It's the Best of The Country with Rabobank and Jamie Mackay.

This week's top interviews were with:

Prof Keith Woodford:

A Lincoln University academic and one of the country's foremost agribusiness commentators says he has evidence, but not proof, that M. bovis could have been in the country from at least 2008.

Nathan Guy:

The former Minister of Primary Industries reflects on the his days as a Young Farmer contestant plus he comments on the battle against M.bovis and whether we should be dairy farming in the Mackenzie Basin.

Greg Millar:

IHC's National Fundraising Manager sadly announces the suspension of this year's IHC Calf and Rural Scheme (which is now in its 33rd year) due to the threat of M. bovis. This will leave a more than $1 million void to fill and he asks other farmers and rural folk to step up to the plate.

Winston Peters:

The Acting PM and The Country's host agree to disagree with Air New Zealand promoting meatless burgers made in America but agree to disagree over the union movement and business confidence.

Hayley Gourley:

Rabobank's GM Country Banking previews the bank's latest farmer confidence survey which, somewhat surprisingly perhaps, shows confidence in the agri economy over the coming 12 months is at its lowest reading since the tail end of the dairy downturn in 2015-16.
