Silver Fern Farms has confirmed the closure of meat processing plants at Wairoa and Mossburn.
The company said this morning it is working with staff at its Frasertown mutton processing plant at Wairoa and its South Island Mossburn venison plant on options to transfer to alternative sites in its network following the closure of the two small sites today.
Employees at Mossburn are being given options to work at the company's Waitane, Kennington or Finegand sites.
Wairoa Frasertown employees will have the option of transferring to Takapau or Pacific in the Central Hawke's Bay.
Silver Fern Farms announced last Tuesday it was consulting with staff at its Frasertown and Mossburn plants on options for closing.
