A Biosecurity New Zealand survey has confirmed no notifiable avian influenza virus in local poultry farms it tested.
The survey was to meet new international reporting requirements.
Poultry Industry Association executive director Michael Brooks said: "We were always confident that our strict on-farm biosecurity would ensure the industry would be free of the disease. Now we have irrefutable proof."
