A North Otago man was injured after his quad bike rolled at a rural property at Island Cliff, inland from Oamaru, on Sunday.

The incident was reported to police, who did not attend the scene, about 5.30pm.

St John spokesman Gerard Campbell said the patient was airlifted to Dunedin Hospital in a serious condition.

His age was not available.

WorkSafe was notified and had launched an investigation.
