The Ministry for Primary Industries has confirmed that cattle disease Mycoplasma bovis has now been found on 20 properties.
The regional breakdown is 11 in South Canterbury (Waitaki and Waimate Districts), six in Southland, two in Mid-Canterbury (Ashburton area) and one in Hawke's Bay.
MPI says all infected properties are under quarantine controls set out in Restricted Place Notices under the Biosecurity Act and that these legal controls restrict the movement of stock and equipment on and off those farms to contain the disease.
