Jamie Mackay has always wanted to interview a carrot grower from Ohakune. Today The Country host is in luck because Ron Frew is just that.
Frew reports that carrots are not affected by the snow blanketing his crop and if he does end up with rejects he simply feeds them to his appreciative cattle.
Although the carrots are faring well under the extreme weather conditions, Ron says townies are not so lucky and he's had to tow a few of them who've come to grief on their journey to the ski fields.
The other half of today's panel is Hawkes Bay President of Federated Farmers Will Foley. He is dealing with flooding as well as snow in his region.
