Things are wonderfully wet in the Wairarapa says Sir Brian Lochore. The Country's Roving North Island Farming Ambassador caught up with Jamie Mackay today for an update on what's what in his region.
The unseasonal wet weather has brought with it more grass than Sir Brian has seen for a long time and he says farmers are actually having trouble finding the stock to eat it.
Speaking of stock, Sir Brian talks about the high cost of replacement capital stock and store stock off the back of improved returns for lamb.
Sir Brian is also good at picking up and coming rugby players. He gives as an insight into who's caught his eye this season and (surprise-surprise) it's a Barrett.
