The response team charged with containing bacterial cattle disease mycoplasma bovis will not know if it has spread by the end of today.
MPI Regional Controller Dr Chris Rodwell explained to The Country that MPI takes a "fairly cautious approach" and testing results needing to be "checked and double-checked."
Once these results are confirmed MPI will share them with farmers before the informing the wider community.
