Moving Day is almost here and farmers will need to be extra vigilant this year due to the risk of spreading Mycoplasma bovis.
Fonterra Regional Head for Taranaki, Scott Walls caught up with The Country Early Edition's Rowena Duncum to remind farmers of precautions to take on Moving Day.
Mycoplasma bovis has "really thrown a spanner in the works," for Moving Day says Walls, who wants to encourage farmers to read up on ways they can prepare and protect their farms from biosecurity breaches.
Walls also has advice for farm owners bringing on new share milkers and urges farmers to check NAIT records.
Also in today's interview: Scott Walls talks about Fonterra's involvement with DairyNZ's Climate Change Ambassadors and work shops coming up in June where farmers can talk to some of New Zealand's top climate change researchers.
