There's one question The Country's Jamie Mackay wants to ask Jacinda Ardern before anything else - is the new Labour leader farmer-friendly?
It looks like the answer is "yes." Ardern's grandparents were farmers before buying an orchard and she had a rural childhood growing up in Morrinsville.
"From a young age I could drive a Massey Ferguson and operate a cherry picker and a grader."
Ardern also knows how to herd sheep which Mackay quips will come in handy for herding the Labour caucus.
Also in today's interview - Jamie and Jacinda discuss Andrew Little, Bill English, encouraging young people to vote and whether she's prepared to do coalition business over a single-malt whiskey with Winston Peters.
