If trade is compared to the football World Cup - has Donald Trump scored an own goal?
Jamie Mackay put this question to Rabobank's Senior Strategist Asia Pacific, Michael Every, who spoke to The Country about whether New Zealand should be worried about the United States President's trade war with China.
"Free trade is certainly going to be less free," says Every, "what we've seen specifically between the US and China is quite dramatic."
Every refers to the escalating tit-for-tat tariff war between the two countries as "pretty remarkable stuff," which has driven down world commodity prices.
