Jason Boyle had his debut on The Country Early Edition this morning. Fonterra's new head of co-operative affairs for the Central Districts gave host Dom George an update in his region.
Boyle has been with Fonterra for seven years working in the manufacturing side of the business in milk collection in Taranaki. Jason is no stranger to rural life, growing up in Bulls on a dry stock and dairy farm.
Fonterra have been trying to encourage young people to have a go at farming life. Jason fills Dom in on a pilot programme in Hawke's Bay where 70 high school students got out onto a farm to open their eyes to the possibility of farming as a career option.
Jason also talks about World Milk Day and what Fonterra's up to at Fieldays.
