Nigel Woodhead is the winner of the FMG Young Farmer of the Year Grand Final.
Milton sheep and beef farmer Nigel was hoping to co-host The Country today but ended up fog-bound at Christchurch airport instead where he called host Jamie Mackay for a review of his big weekend.
Woodhead said his "nerves were shot" by the time his name was announced but once he realised he had taken out the title the feeling was "awesome."
The contest no longer relies on a final "beat the buzzer" question-and-answer round to determine the winner. Jamie asks Nigel if he reckons this made the competition easier.
Finally Jamie and Nigel talk about his farming background, how his family have supported him and what the future holds for the new FMG Young Farmer of the Year.
