The Country: We yarn to first female president of Federated Farmers in 118 years and ask her major battle in the next three years will be winning the farming PR battle with urban New Zealand.

Katie Milne is the first female president of Federated Farmers in 118 years. She caught up with Jamie Mackay today for a chat about what she thinks the next three years at the helm of the Feds will bring.

Katie says she will make any strong points with passion but will not resort to "attack dog" politics as that can be isolating and ultimately ineffective.

Milne's focus is on bridging the urban/rural divide and winning the PR battle for farming, especially around the environment as "we're all in this together".

Have a listen to the full interview in the audio clip above.
