Vice President of Federated Farmers Andrew Hoggard was initially disappointed in Fonterra's $183 million payout to Danone, but then angry with the online reaction to the dairy co-op's announcement.
Fonterra said it would revise down its forecast earnings per share range for the 2017/18 financial year to 35c to 45c, down from 45c to 55c, as a result of the successful claim against it by the French food group.
Hoggard told The Country's Jamie Mackay that he is angry over keyboard warriors not only expressing excitement at Fonterra's Danone payout but also attacking the dairy giant's latest ad campaign.
"These people just need to get a life to be honest."
