Fonterra Head of Co-operative Affairs for Canterbury Stu Gray was supposed to be retiring from Fonterra after over 30 years in the dairy industry. However, the recent earthquakes have changed his plans and he is sticking around to help those farmers affected.
The traumatic events have really brought people together and Gray has been impressed by everyone chipping in to help out, whether it's giving a farmer a break from milking to just providing a friendly ear to listen.
Stu gives a shout out to the staff of Fonterra who have rolled their sleeves up and provided much needed support to the region.
Once he has finished helping those in need, Stu Gray is off to get his hiking boots out of storage and get on with the business of retiring...
