The Country Early Edition: CEO of DairyNZ Dr. Tim Mackle reflects on the difficulties of dumping milk after the earthquakes.

DairyNZ Chief Executive Dr. Tim Mackle knows all too well the effects an earthquake can have on milk production. He caught up with The Country Early Edition's Dom George today.

The Fonterra tankers have been able to get through to quake-stricken Kaikoura and get some of the milk out of the region, bringing welcome relief to local farmers.

Mackle has kept in close contact with these farmers and has seen first hand how demoralising dumping milk can be as they see their hard work sometimes literally go down the drain.

Finally Dr. Tim and Dom have a catch up about the resent GDTA result, the break-even price and preparations for a dry summer.
