Experts say we need to grow more trees to offset environmental damage. Someone who agrees wholeheartedly is PR man for the Forest Owners Association Don Carson. He joined The Country's Jamie Mackay today to encourage farmers to take to planting.
Carson thinks that the forestry industry is so important that some day wood fibre may even replace the wool market.
Ever the devil's advocate, Mackay wants to know if we were barking up the wrong tree by planting in areas that were once productive land for the agricultural industry. Now those plantations have been chopped down to make way for pasture again.
Have we learned from these mistakes and can commercial forests live alongside farmed land?
Finally Don tackles Greenpeace, Chris Kelly's resignation and gives us his predictions for 2017.
