Don Carson is usually the PR Man for the Forest Owners Association but today he is acting as The Country's Middle East correspondent.

Carson has been observing the "tinder-dry" situation in the Middle East after Donald Trump declared Jerusalem the capital of Israel and marvels that the US President has so far avoided impeachment.

On to matters at home and Don has been involved in filming a fire awareness video in Northland which is unseasonably lush and "bright green" at the moment.

Wellington however is crying out for rain like much of New Zealand and Carson believes water storage is the answer to the nation's weather woes.

Finally Don waxes lyrical about the much-maligned mutton pie saying "mutton is wonderful."
