The Country: Oysterman Willie Calder is still disappointed with the lack of urgency from the Ministry for Primary Industries over the threat to Bluff oysters from Bonamia ostreae.

Last time The Country's Jamie Mackay spoke to Willie Calder the oysterman was unhappy with the Ministry for Primary Industries' handling of the Bonamia ostreae threat to Bluff oysters.

Mackay caught up with Calder earlier today to see if anything had changed in the past seven days.

Calder heard Prime Minister Bill English talk to The Country yesterday and said he was disappointed with his response, saying English should have known it was a different strain of Bonamia from the past, especially considering he's a "Southern man".

Willie is calling for a total ban on boats leaving Big Glory Bay and crossing the oyster beds to Foveaux strait. There has been a small consession with boats moving around the outside of the area but Calder says this is not enough and that "we're not very happy with MPI".
