Newly-elected President of Federated Farmers Katie Milne caught up with The Country's Jamie Mackay today to chew the fat over rural issues.
Milne is not impressed with the recent demise of the Ruataniwha dam project, describing it as "an own goal." She also suggests that the project was sunk due to an "anti-irrigation thing" and the incorrect perception that irrigation means more cows.
Jamie Mackay and Katie Milne also discuss the current bout of extreme weather and what to do about the struggling strong wool industry.
