The entrance to a popular Lake Hawea freedom camping site was yesterday blocked by a pile of gravel and debris that had been laid across it.
Last week, local farmer Richard Burdon complained about the way campers treated the area.
The Glen Dene Station owner said he was fed up with the state the Craigburn area, north of Glen Dene, was left in after up to 25 camper vans parked up there each night.
The Crown was to blame for not managing the situation, Mr Burdon said, and he called on Conservation Minister Eugenie Sage to address the issue urgently.
Last night, access to the area was blocked off.
