Fordell's annual cattle sale will still be going ahead.

An article in Thursday's Chronicle reported that all of Fordell's cattle fairs were being transferred to Feilding.

Whanganui's head stock agent from PGG Wrightson, Harvey Falloon, said a cattle fair in February would still go ahead.

"The cattle fair that we run every year in early January will still happen but it will happen in mid February because it had been so dry.

"The reason it has been withheld is because the stock price came backwards because of the dry but we are hoping that will improve."

He said he had only put the cattle fair off once before and that was about 10 years ago, again due to drought.
