James Good, transport team manager, explaining to a group of shareholders the intricacies and the technology of the Fonterra tanker.
Fonterra Pahiatua site opened its doors to shareholders from the Central Region on Saturday, February 25.
They hosted 150 farmers, who got a detailed look at all areas of the operation including wastewater treatment plant, milk unloading bays, distribution centre, our new powder plant and the transport operation.
Pahiatua operationsmanager Graham Thomson said, "Pahiatua staff are very proud of the site and what they do, and enjoyed having the opportunity to share their extensive knowledge with our local farmers."
Comments from farmers were extremely positive.
"It's a really good to see where your milk goes after it's in the milk tanker."
"Fantastic - all shareholders should come along to follow the processes and experience the technology. The robots were interesting (and the BBQ was great)."
"The whole thing was a highlight. Cool seeing the inside of Fonterra and how it works."
