A ceiling has caught fire in a Pongakawa house.
Firefighters arriving at the Pongakawa Bush Rd home found a small fire that appeared to be contained to the ceiling, Fire and Emergency's northern communications shift manager Megan Ruru said.
She said crews from Pukehina and Matata were at the scene.They were removing some roof iron to see what was going on in the ceiling cavity.
