The Country's Jamie Mackay reckons Pita Alexander is an oxymoron because he's a charismatic accountant. Nice.
Pita not only knows his numbers he also knows farming and he has just published a book called Farming Thoughts and Comments. Speaking of comments, he thanks Mackay for his oxymoronic jibe because Alexander is a gentleman.
Farming Thoughts and Comments is a compilation of Pita Alexander's past two years of columns from the Christchurch Press. He wanted to get his observations out beyond the Garden City so he decided to collate them into a book.
He has many interesting topics; not least the prospect of water wars in the future and genetically modified crops.
And what about climate change - who is going to pay for that?
