A Northland dairy farmer has been fined $23,000 after a jury in Whangarei found him guilty of polluting a stream.
The jury heard that when pumping equipment failed on Henry Van Den Bogaart's farm effluent overflowed for at least five days into a drain feeding into the Paiaka Stream.
