Entries were up this year at the A&P home industries section, with some new local entries joining new out-of-town contributions.
A top chef with international experience pronounced the baking of a very high quality, and the crafts, knitting, crochet and sewing all matched those of 2017.
Organiser Pam Henricksen said she was thrilled with the entries, especially from the children, and thanked sponsors and her stewards for their help.
There were only two entries in the Courts but both were of very high quality. Ruaroa just pipped Horoeka-Ti Tree Point's version of Shipwrecked.
In the corner of the home industries pavilion the photography entries were down in number but high in quality, with Kaitlyn Edmonds thrilled to win the top award. She is a member of the high school camera club and on the Massey Photography Club executive to progress her skills.
A cool day provided relief for those in the pavilion used to the building cooking in the heat, and provided relief from heavy showers which doused the show about 11am.
