An intermittent glitch on some Windows setups, but one of the most irritating, is its habit of sometimes freezing when you try to shut down. It's happened to all of us, and its happening right now to several readers. Help is on its way from Microsoft (URL below).

Steve Tewai asks: Can you tell me where I might find a FREE picture-viewer program please? I am not confident with freeware or shareware, everything I download seems to eventually have to be paid for.
Not always, Steve. Ulead has a good reputation, and it's free at along with lots of other fine freebies. Give it a try (URL below).

Tankboy wants no more and no less than anyone else on the Net, free music and a bit of privacy: "I am having a problem with my browser, when I go to a search engine (any one) and I start typing in the name of something I want, say cars, it brings up a list of other things I have searched for, i.e. cats, cops. How can I stop this? It is just a hassle because I look for free music and free games although my parents disapprove of this, and I don't want them to see what I look up."
There's an easy fix, my friend – to delete your History list, just go Tools/Internet Options/ Delete history. That will also clear the auto-complete function - your tracks are now covered!

Finally, Kay wants to know: "I have Norton SystemWorks fully installed and would now like to uninstall Crashguard. How do I do this?"
Simple: hit the Start button/Settings/Control Panel. Double-click on "Add/Remove Programs" choose "Norton SystemWorks 2000", press the "Add/Remove" Button and follow the on-screen instructions to remove whichever component you don't want. There, wasn't that simple?
