Welcome to InBox, where we attempt to answer yur Internet questions

InBox has been inundated with email from the afflicted - readers who have been unlucky enough to fall victim to the viral marketing of GoHip, a low-rent portal which has planted its malicious, invasive code all over the web. I've been sending out a fix most of this week, but from now on you'll be able to download it from local shareware specialists Yippee.

Julio on the music wars: "The things they're doing with digital music are a complete crock… speaking of which, I have used Microsoft's new Media Player 7....it crashed my system."
Funny you should say that, Julio, so did I and it crashed mine too, totally - I had to use GoBack in the end. But Microsoft says 3.4 million people downloaded it in the first 10 days - 4 downloads a second - and there are now over 200 million licensed copies worldwide. I can't believe they're all locked up – must be just you and me…

CD-burner blues: the Rajman still can't get his to work, and he's been joined by Yash who in spite of using the Audio tab with the Easy-CD Creator wizard still can't hear a thing. Grant, a tamed geek I keep in a cage for just such occasions as this, says: "They need to check they are closing the session properly. EZCD creator has three options to leave the disk once the burning has finished:
* 'Leave Session open' - if you choose this option, the CD will not work in any normal CD-ROM's, you will only be able to "look" and "use" the CD in a burner.
* 2. 'Close session and leave CD open' - this lets the CD be "used" in a CD-ROM drive (closing that session) and you can still write more stuff to it later (new session). The downside of this is that almost all normal household CD-players won't be able to "see" the other sessions, only the first.
* 3. 'Close CD' - this will close the CD so no more data can ever be written to it; if you stuff up with this option you have made a very nice silver coaster for sitting your drinks on :)

Auckland-based law firm Carlaw and Partners are offering a sort of legal equivalent of InBox at www.carterslaw.co.nz. "We'll answer as many as we can each month - we may not have the time to answer all questions and some answers may just be too complicated for a quick written response… "
Know how they feel... incidentally, there's a great online helpdesk at www.protonic.com

Last week Stephanie Brown was asking about recipes from TV's "Naked Chef". Both Alan Keatinge and Lois Grayburn reply: "www.bbc.co.uk/food is worth looking into. Following links you eventually get his best 12 recipes, some of which have been in the programme". Check out 'Celebrity Chefs'.
