Pros: One of the first racing games on the original PlayStation in 1995, Wipeout has risen a few times with faster, stranger racing experiences. You pilot ultra high-speed anti-gravity craft, which hover above massive, flowing tracks in a variety of race formats, and employ savage weapons to take out opponents. As your skills progress, the game gets more frantic. The soundtrack, as always, is pumping electronica, but the insanely crisp 1080p graphics mean trippier tracks and faster gameplay. It can only be downloaded through the Sony online store.
Cons: The concept doesn't add much to the very similar earlier versions, although it looks and plays brilliantly.
Verdict: Download it and go fast, like a 23rd century Ricky Bobby.
