KEY POINTS:
Speculation that the next generation version of the iPhone is just around the corner has reached fever pitch as Apple's online stores in both the US and UK show the must-have device as 'unavailable'.
Both the 8GB and 16GB versions are off the menu - pushing the iPhone 3G rumour mill into overdrive.
Paul Brislen, Vodafone New Zealand's communications manager told nzherald.co.nz this afternoon, not surprisingly, that the company had no information on which iPhone would be coming here.
"All we know is that we're on the list of ten countries that will be getting the iPhone later this year," he said.
Respected tech scribe David Manners website is offering confirmation that Italy is getting a 3G version next month.
Italy is one of the countries announced as Vodafone iPhone carriers last week when the UK stock exchanged dropped the surprise.
