Cut your phone bill: Telecom is running a campaign to bring back customers who have their tolls with someone else - offering a 25 per cent discount for six months. But according to Bruce Simpson, existing customers can get the discount too. He writes: "When I rang this morning and said that I'd like to move my toll services to another provider for a week and then bring them back so that I could claim the 25 per cent discount and $50 credit, Telecom offered me the 25 per cent discount if I stayed - even though I was an existing customer."

Fancy a spoof?: Spoofing sounds like a new internet scam - but it's one of the 40-odd sports at the Trans-Tasman Master Games starting on the North Shore on March 20. Spoofing is defined as "the ancient art of mathematical calculation played by gentlemen", but in real terms it's a coin game at a pub.
