Sneak previews - (Apple) Most of the major film studios have recognised the need to get their trailers online in a hurry and Apple seems to have convinced them all to use Quicktime as the format of choice. Download the viewer, if you don't already have it, and watch trailers to your heart's content. All the latest films are there, with plenty of independents and the odd behind-the-scenes short film. Best of all, Apple uses Akamai to host its trailers and Akamai has a server in Telecom's exchange on Mayoral Drive. Very quick access times.

Up with the play (Chud) - Cinematic Happenings Under Development lets you know what's coming up in the world of cinema (and television, and comics if you're keen enough to browse its affiliated sites). Good interviews, interesting rumours and unfortunately a difficult-to-read site design. But that's under review, so hopefully it'll get better soon.

First with news (Ain't it cool News) - The site that convinced Peter Jackson to invite its creator to New Zealand to check out Lord of the Rings and again for King Kong. This site breaks more industry news than any other, although the comments in the forums can be quite tedious. Find out about upcoming TV shows as well, but beware the spoilers - they can give away more than you really wanted.

Happening things (Coming Soon) - Coming Soon is all about what's about to happen in the movie world. It's a useful site that aggregates news and rumours from sites around the world. The site often points to bootlegged movie posters and trailers months before they're available elsewhere, although the quality's often not so good and sometimes they get pulled offline before you can get to them.
