Amiright.com: Thanks to Helen McLaughlin for alerting us to this completely insane site that features a huge collection of song parodies. One of our favourites was a ditty called Napster Pie, sung to the tune of American Pie. The chorus goes: "So, bye, bye, had a very last try. Sent some packets to the server, but it didn't reply ... So the good ol' boys slowly e-mail their files, saying this will be the disk that I buy, this will be the disk that I buy." The site also includes thousands of misheard lyrics sent in by visitors. For example, this line purportedly came from someone who was trying to sing Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody:
"Bill the bug has a demo of a swine for me."
(Correct lyrics: "Beelzebub has a devil put aside for me".)
Nilfun: The home site of New Zealand musician Neil Finn is simply one of the coolest local sites around. If you missed the recent Auckland concert date, then the still images included here will convey something of the atmosphere of the event. You may also listen to a selection of tracks, but, unfortunately, even on our high-speed internet connection the video clips on offer refused to play.
