MathsOnline: Three years ago this locally developed maths education site, then named Scholarnet, won several awards for bringing the Year 11 maths curriculum to the web.
Since then author Ro Bairstow, a teacher at King's College, has expanded the content to include most of the courses studied at secondary school. Additions include a problem of the week set for each year and e-mail-based help that promises to answer a maths query within 24 hours. Available free to schools but individuals who want to brush up their maths may register for $55 a year.
CubicEye: Web developer 2ce (pronounced "to see") is offering free beta test versions of its 3D web browser, which displays up to five screens at a time as if you are looking into an open box. An unlimited number of additional boxes or "rooms" may be created, including preset cubes to display all your favourite news sites at once. You may zoom in and out or rotate each cube, which the makers claim is much easier than opening and closing multiple 2D windows.
Glenn Jowitt Photography: The images displayed on this online exhibition of photographs taken in the Pacific Islands range from breathtaking cloudscapes to candid and often humorous observations of everyday life. Limited edition prints of all images may be ordered online.
