The screensaver is the web's only true art-form so far, and Hamilton's John Pattenden points out that most, if not all the Stanford Screen Saver exhibits were built using their creation tools, which allow non-programming Michelangelos to create great screensavers using MacroMedia's Flash or Director. HowlSpace: This new site, which aims to create a living history of music from Australia and New Zealand, has kicked off by naming the Top 100 all-time rock and pop acts and includes detailed entries for each one. HowlSpace has issued an open invitation to enthusiasts to contribute to the site.
Computers Against Isolation: A campaign which encourages donations of secondhand net-ready computers by companies and upgrading individuals for stroke victims in particular and disabled persons in general. Started in NZ only months ago, it has already spread to the US and Canada. For those who thought their lives had shrunk, there are still the endless horizons of cyberspace.
