Microsoft has warned users that someone posing as a company employee has obtained access to digital certificates that could be used to pose as the software giant and deliver a computer virus.
Digital certificates are a key security feature of the software Microsoft uses to demonstrate its programs are genuine. VeriSign, of Mountain View, California, notified Microsoft that it issued two digital certificates in late January to an impostor. It blamed "human error."
