A torrent of text messages on New Year's Day - more than three times the normal load - has left the Vodafone network struggling to clear the traffic.
Yesterday Vodafone users were still reporting difficulties with text messages.
Vodafone spokeswoman Elinore Wellwood said a "phenomenal demand" on international texting and calling on New Year's Day had overloaded part of the system.
Mrs Wellwood said the overloaded part of the system was isolated yesterday and with a return to more normal levels of calling and texting, users should not have further problems.
About 2.11 million people have Vodafone cellphones.
